CB Radio Logbook Reaches 100 Registered Operators in Just 6 Days

When CB Radio Logbook was first launched, the goal was never simply to build another website. The idea was to create a dedicated home for CB radio operators; a place where contacts could be recorded, stations could be showcased, nets could be organised, and the community could come together around a shared hobby that has connected people across towns, counties and countries for decades.

Just six days after opening registration, CB Radio Logbook has reached an exciting milestone:

100 registered operators.

For a brand-new platform built specifically for the CB radio community, this is a fantastic achievement and one that would not have been possible without the support, encouragement and feedback received from operators across the UK and beyond.

A Community-Driven Project

CB Radio Logbook began as a simple idea.

Many operators keep paper logbooks, notes on their phones, spreadsheets, or social media posts to record their contacts. While these methods work, they often become fragmented over time and do not offer a central place to build a record of activity.

The vision behind CB Radio Logbook was to create a dedicated platform where operators could:

  • Record and manage radio contacts
  • Build a station profile
  • Showcase radios and antennas
  • Track achievements
  • Join organised nets
  • Connect with other operators
  • Discover active stations
  • Earn badges and awards
  • Help grow the wider CB radio community

The First 100 Operators

Reaching 100 registered operators in less than a week demonstrates something important:

The CB radio hobby is still very much alive.

Despite countless predictions over the years about the decline of CB radio, operators continue to get on the air every day. Whether operating from a home station, a vehicle, a campsite, a hilltop location or a handheld setup, people still enjoy the simple pleasure of making contacts and talking radio.

The first 100 users represent a diverse mix of operators, including:

  • Long-time CB enthusiasts
  • Returning operators rediscovering the hobby
  • Mobile operators
  • Base station operators
  • DX enthusiasts
  • Casual weekend users
  • Newcomers purchasing their first radios

Together they have already begun building a valuable database of contacts, stations and activity.

More Than Just a Logbook

Although contact logging remains at the heart of the platform, CB Radio Logbook has already grown beyond its original concept.

Features currently available include:

Contact Logging

Operators can record QSOs, track who they have spoken to and build a history of contacts over time.

Station Profiles

Users can showcase their radio equipment, antennas and operating setup, helping others discover different station configurations and equipment choices.

Operator Directory

Members can find and connect with other operators who share similar interests or operate in nearby areas.

Interactive Maps

The platform includes mapping features that help visualise contacts and operator locations, making it easier to see the reach of your station.

Net Support

Organised radio nets are an important part of the hobby, and dedicated net functionality has already been introduced to help operators coordinate and participate in scheduled on-air events.

Badge System

One of the most popular additions has been the badge system, allowing operators to unlock achievements and milestones as they participate in the hobby.

Listening to Operator Feedback

One of the most rewarding aspects of the first six days has been the amount of feedback received from the community.

Many of the features already added were inspired directly by suggestions from users. New ideas continue to arrive every day, helping shape the direction of the platform.

Rather than building features in isolation, development is being guided by the people who actually use CB radio.

This community-led approach ensures that CB Radio Logbook grows into a platform that genuinely supports the hobby rather than simply existing alongside it.

Early Growth Statistics

The first six days have already produced some encouraging results:

  • 100 registered operators
  • Dozens of recorded contacts
  • Active station profiles
  • Net activity
  • Equipment listings
  • Growing user engagement
  • Continuous feature requests and feedback

Most importantly, operators are returning to the platform and actively contributing to its development.

What Comes Next?

The first 100 operators are only the beginning.

There is already a growing list of planned improvements, enhancements and new features designed to make the platform even more useful for operators.

Future development will continue to focus on:

  • Improving contact logging
  • Expanding badge and achievement systems
  • Enhancing net management tools
  • Better station discovery
  • Additional mapping features
  • Community-driven enhancements
  • Improved statistics and reporting
  • New ways to connect operators

Thank You

Most importantly, thank you to every operator who has registered, added contacts, submitted feedback, shared the platform with friends, or simply taken the time to have a look around.

Launching a new project is always a leap into the unknown, but the response from the CB radio community over the past six days has been overwhelmingly positive.

Reaching 100 registered operators so quickly is an incredible milestone, but it feels very much like the start of the journey rather than the destination.

Here's to the next 100 operators, the next 1,000 contacts, and many more QSOs ahead.
